"Please, note this review is actually for the performance of Jenny Mendez and not the performance of her staff or any other Statefarm staff. I filed a claim for damage to my condo that was the result of a water leak from the unit above. The owner of that unit accepted responsibility and was working with her insurance company, Farmers to file a claim. Farmers informed her that she did not have the proper type of insurance on her unit, she rents that unit and does live there, so they would not cover her claim. I filed my own claim with Statefarm, the company I have insured by home and auto with for decades. The claim was promptly and professionally handled by Jaylen Collins. The damage was paid for (minus my deductible) and the repairs were completed. This is where the problem begins. Going forward I will have this claim noted on my account and it will very likely negatively impact my application for insurance and coverage in the future. Also, I will not be reimbursed for my deductible. StateFarm is not going to attempt to go after Farmers or the owner of the unit from which the damage originated. Having exhausted all other possibilities I have been trying to reach out to Ms. Mendez for a week, to get an explanation of why Statefarm will not take this further. They may well have an excellent reason for their inaction, but because Ms. Mendez will not return my calls apparently I will never know that reason. On her business website it mentions how much she cares about her customers and how easy it is to contact her. I have found neither to be true. I think it may be time to move to another insurance company."
